Jerks in AZ! I found these guys on Myspace They have some dope moves.

… and on that note, expect some 8 and 18 measure instrumental and drum loop outtakes soon, for use in digital DJ software or as sampler food.

Track Background
Jerkin’ is the new style of rap out of SoCal, Jay-Z famously dissed it because the Jerks wear skinny jeans. Fuck Jay-Z, this style of rap is fresh. So fresh – it deserved a bangin’ bootleg electro-house remix. If Jay-Z is lucky, maybe I’ll remix one of his tracks.

Read more about Jerkin on Wikipedia. There are a couple interesting article links at the bottom of the Wikipedia page.

Production Notes
Yes, I made my own acapella. There was none available. Its a mix of multi-band EQ and sidechained compression, as well as out and out channel muting.

I will be releasing some drum loops, sound outtakes, and minimal instrumental sections/dub versions for DJ use. I might release my homebrew acapella later.

The song was done in Ableton Live 8 Studio edition, my favorite music software. Mastering was in both Ableton and Audacity, which is a cool open source audio editor.
