The brief EMU SP-12 and Roland TR-909 gearshots are hot. The drum programming and sequencing is so dope, the vibe reminds me of some of the Jam Master A trax. And I laughed a bit, because I’ve been making plans to acquire a microphone. Phear.
There might be some other new things up on my soundcloud account that that are raw but rock, where I’ve felt like they are not ready to be posted here, yet, you never know…
Yo, yo! New trax on the way soon. In the meanwhile, I wanted to point you to an artist I encountered that is doing some d o p e shit.
The last bit of the magic is the BOSS RC50 Loop station. this is an awesome piece of gear as it samples what ever i play through it in real time just by hitting the record button with my feet. Their is a little bit of skill involved because if you don’t press record at exactly the right time the loop can go out of sink when you try to loop it. I can record three different samples and play them together or separately and i can add to each pattern as well. So usually i put a beat on 1, some harmonies on 2 and a bass on 3. This allows me to separate the 3 core elements in my composition to change the dynamics and the way the music flows.
I could have sworn he was using something like Ableton Looper… but it’s actually this piece of hardware… Boss RC-50 Loop Station… which is even more impressive, because Ableton will fix your timing, the looper won’t.
